Austin - Overview of petanque in Austin[]
There are three big clubs in Austin.
- Heart of Texas is the oldest club in Texas and a very strong club.
- Legation Boules — They play on the grounds of the French Legation, and at the Browning Hangar.
- Nelson Ranch Petanque in Cedar Park is now the largest club in Austin.

- We play at Nelson Ranch Park in Cedar Park on Tuesday morning at 10AM (or at the Hangar during summer season)
- We also play at the French Legation on Sundays from 1:00 to 5:00pm, and the Browning Hangar at Mueller Austin every Friday evening from 6PM.
Austin - Paggi Square (public park/terrain)[]
- In 2013 the mayor of Austin opened a dedicated petanque court in the Mueller Community of Austin.
- It is located in a "pocket park"— Paggi Square, 2101 Robert Browing Street, Austin, TX (map)

Austin/McDade - The Sahnoans at Star Ranch nudist park[]

- Star Ranch is located near McDade, Texas which is about 30 miles east of Austin (IH 35 & Highway 290) on Highway 290.
- The Sahnoans at Star Ranch is a family-oriented nudist park that has been in operation since 1957.
- Star Ranch boasts some of the finest Petanque courts this side of France. Two crushed limestone courts have been carefully framed, rolled and tended to assure you a true experience. Boules are available in the office, or bring your own. Tournaments are held every holiday weekend.

Dallas - Dallas Petanque Club[]

- We play weekly on Sunday at 2 pm in Gussie Field Park, 2600 Valley View Ln, Farmers Branch, TX 75234. It is located at the Rawhide Parkway next to the Rose Garden. (map)
- The terrain was built in 2011 by the City of Farmers Branch and the Boy Scouts, in a beautiful location with shade trees, benches, and lights. The terrain surface was doubled in October 2012 with the help of the Boy Scouts.

Dallas - Klyde Warren Park (terrain)[]
- In November 2012, Dallas built a new park in the heart of the city.
- Klyde Warren Park, 2012 Woodall Rodgers Fwy, Dallas, TX 75201 (map) is a 5.2-acre deck park.
- Petanque can be played on "The Commons", a lighted 25-foot wide path.
- At 2 pm on the first Saturday of every month, the Dallas Petanque Club provides free petanque lessons.

El Paso - El Paso Petanque Club[]
- We play most Saturdays and Sundays between 9 a.m. and noon on Rim Road near upper Tom Lea Park.

San Antonio - San Antonio Pétanque Club[]

- The San Antonio Petanque Club was founded in 2002 by Dr. Fernando Triana, a cardiologist. He first learned the game traveling through Europe in his teens. Once settled in San Antonio, he built petanque courts in his backyard, and played with family, friends, and neighbors. Later Michel Costa and others joined the club. The Club now meets on most Sundays in Fernando’s back yard.

San Antonio - Drew Cauthorn[]
- As of May 2013, Drew Cauthorn installed a petanque court on a lot near the San Antonio River on the Mission Reach.

Overview of petanque in Houston[]
- Houston Petanque Club is dead. It used to play in Bear Creek Park.
- Zimm's Little Deck, a restaurant with a petanque area, closed in 2012.
- The Brooklyn Athletic Club (a restaurant), 601 Richmond Ave., Houston, TX 77006 (map) has both bocce and petanque courts. Their web site is http://thebrooklynathleticclub.com/
- Discovery Green, the big park in downtown Houston, has public bocce courts... but don't play petanque on them: that would tear up the super-smooth surface that is so important for bocce. - Most popular among French Canadians, petanque is quickly gaining dedicated followers here in the Rio Grande Valley. Hermel Pelletier and his wife, Reinalde, coordinate the game for the Golden Age Olympics, sponsored by the city of McAllen, which takes place every spring right here at Pleasant Valley Resort. “It is a great game for all Canadians, and more and more Americans are playing” Pelletier said.
